As part of the celebration of the Day of the Worker of Culture and Art, the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography held a creative meeting with the leading soloist of the theater “Astana Ballet”, Wesley Carvalho.
Wesley Carvalho generously shared his wealth of knowledge and experience working with companies in America and Brazil, bringing a unique perspective to the context of Kazakhstani art. The discussion revealed parallels between the educational systems in the U.S. and Kazakhstan, opening the door for the exchange of ideas and practices in the field of choreography.
Special attention was paid to the potential for ballet development in Kazakhstan and preserving its uniqueness. The participants of the event actively discussed possible steps to support and discover talent in this field, as well as means to pass on the legacy of Kazakhstani ballet to future generations. This provided an impetus for further reflection on what elements from the American system could be adapted to improve education and support for the arts in Kazakhstan.
