Winners of the International Competition of Young Choreographers Announced

The final day of the International Competition of Young Choreographers was насыщated with educational and cultural events.

The forum “Digital Transformation of Arts Universities: Challenges and Prospects” was held, bringing together heads of delegations from participating countries. Guests also attended an экскурсия to the Astana Opera theatre.

Alima Moldakhmetova, Head of the “Ballet Mastery Art” Department at the T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, conducted a master class on Kazakh dance for the participants.

In the evening, the ceremonial closing and gala concert of the International Competition of Young Choreographers, dedicated to International Dance Day, took place on the stage of the Astana Ballet theatre.

The distinguished jury—Irma Cardano, Anvara Sadykova, under the chairmanship of Konstantin Zaklinsky—determined the winners of the competition.

  • Third Prize Laureates: Anna Borshchova (Minsk, Belarus) and Faim Kibirov (Almaty, Kazakhstan).
  • Second Prize Laureates: Alibi Iskandirov (Almaty, Kazakhstan) and Yersultan Toigulov (Astana, Kazakhstan).
  • First Prize Laureates: Olga Nikolaychuk (Moscow, Russia) and Bauyrzhan Salauatov (Astana, Kazakhstan).

Based on its own evaluation, the jury also established several special prizes.

The special prize from the chief ballet master of the “Gulder” ensemble, Anvara Sadykova, “For the Preservation of National Traditions in Contemporary Choreographic Art,” was awarded to Anita Sharipova (Ufa State Institute of Arts named after Zagir Ismagilov) and Nazrin Adiyeva (Baku Academy of Choreography).

Special “Hope” prizes were awarded to Aina Mamytova (Kyrgyz National University of Culture and Arts named after B. Beishenalieva) and Zlata Yablokova (State Academy of Choreography of Uzbekistan).

Special prizes “Summer Internship from Barcelona Ballet Project,” established by Irma Cardano, were awarded to Yersultan Toigulov (Kazakh National Academy of Choreography), Faim Kibirov (T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts), and Rustem Amirbekov (Kazakh National Academy of Choreography).

The special prize of the jury chairman, Honored Artist of the RSFSR Konstantin Zaklinsky, was awarded to Karolina Rusak (Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts).

A special “Hope” prize from the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography was awarded to Maria Vasen’kina.

Participants from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Russia who demonstrated outstanding creative achievements were also recognized with commemorative gifts from the partner Astana Tourism.

The International Competition of Young Choreographers became an important platform for the exchange of experience, professional growth, and creative dialogue among representatives of different countries united by the art of dance.
