International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Holocaust

January 27 – International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Today, in memory of the tragedy that claimed the lives of millions of Jews, the Israeli Embassy in Kazakhstan held a ceremony of presenting 300 books “The diary of Anna Frank” in Kazakh language which will be presented to universities and schools of Kazakhstan.

The first Vice-rector of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography Bibigul Nusipzhanova participated to the meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to the Republic of Kazakhstan Liat Wexelman and several copies of the book were given to the Academy’s library.

The notes of the Jewish girl Anna, which she made while staying in the shelter during the Nazi occupation, were recognized as a subject of the UNESCO Memory of the World Register. “The diary of Anna Frank” has been translated into many languages ​​of the world and is considered a document that denounces Nazism. A 15-year-old girl’s book was a testament to how millions of lives were lost due to the Holocaust.
