Kazakh language and globalization

On October 24, members of the Committee on Youth Affairs of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography took part in a language forum on the theme “The vitality of the Kazakh language in the process of globalization and nationalization.” It was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The main goal of the forum is to increase the status of the state language, expand the scope of the Kazakh language, discuss issues on the implementation of the reform “to switch to the Latin script” and ways to solve them. The forum was attended by experts, writers, scientists and representatives of linguistic circles who think about the future of the Kazakh language, students. And also, during the forum, an exhibition of the results and achievements of the work of various fields on the transition to Latin script was organized.

Minister of Culture and Sports Aktoty Raimkulova noted that “The transition to Latin script is a reform that helps to increase the viability of the Kazakh language in the process of globalization and nationalization. The definition of tasks during the implementation of this reform and the promotion of work results are one of the important spiritual and political factors. Promoting the reform of the alphabet among the population today is an urgent issue.”

The forum’s task is to identify ways to solve them and organize the work of modern educational information and propaganda platforms to enhance the role and status of the Kazakh language in Kazakhstan and the world language community.
