Academy students participated in a debate on corruption

On December 2, students of art and choreography took part in a debate on the theme “Corruption as a threat to the progressive development of society.

Head of the legal sector Sholpan Bakayeva, leading specialist of the department of science, postgraduate education and accreditation Serik Junussov and senior lecturer of the department of art history and art management Bulat Abdrakhmanov were invited as judges.

Doctoral students, master’s students and undergraduate students took part in the public debates.

The debate was held according to the British format. In lively discussion the speakers made interesting arguments and asked questions. At the end of the game the judges decided to award students in the following categories:

• “Most Creative” – Lazzat Amanghazy;
• “The most active” – Makhabbat Arapbayeva;
• “The most erudite” – Artyom Ilyichev;
• “Best Speaker” – Mirzayev Askar;
• “Jury’s Choice” – team “Vanguard”.

The 3rd place was awarded to the Kazakh Nation team, 2nd place – team “Aman”, and the winner by the decision of the judges was the team “Azamat”, taking 1st place.
