The 85th anniversary of the great master of the Kazakh steppe B.G. Ayukhanov

During his lifetime, Bulat Gazizovich Ayukhanov was called a “living legend” of Kazakh ballet. And it’s for a reason.

People’s Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, laureate of the State Prize of the Kazakh SSR, laureate of the independent Club of Patrons of Kazakhstan (“Platinum Tarlan”), winner of the international Socrates Prize in the field of culture and art, professor of art history, academician of the International Academy of Informatization, Bulat Gazizovich Ayukhanov is an iconic figure in the history of formation choreographic art not only in Kazakhstan, but also on a global scale.

In 1967, a young teacher and artistic director of the Kazakh State Choreographic School, bringing together school graduates, created the “Young Ballet of Alma-Ata” (now the State Academic Dance Theater of the Republic of Kazakhstan). And together with the Young Ballet, a new generation of artists, teachers, and managers came into the world of art; who, decades later, would pick up the pedagogical, choreographer’s and simply human postulates of the Teacher.

A sincere evening in memory of the outstanding master Bulat Ayukhanov was held in the educational theater of the Academy by students, disciples and successors of Bulat Gazizovich. In their moving speeches, they brought up memories associated with different periods of working with this extraordinary person, an excellent teacher and mentor.
