The Grand Prix was won by the Ensemble of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography

The Grand Prix was won by the Ensemble of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography at the VI Republican Contest of Kazakh dance named after Shara Zhiyenkulova.
From March 29 to March 31 at the stage of “Astana Ballet” Theatre there was held VI Republican contest of Kazakh dance named after Shara Zhiyenkulova organized by the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography.

The competition, which bears the name of the legendary Kazakh dancer, introduced the audience to the modern repertoire and trends of development of the national dance and allowed finding the brightest performers.

The program of the competition was rich and interesting. A presentation of a unique photo album dedicated to Shara Zhiyenkulova, master classes by Anvara Sadykova and Almat Shamshiyev, lectures by the followers of Sh. Zhiyenkulova – well-known teachers and scientists K.N. Beisenova and T.O. Izyim, an exhibition of materials of the previous five contests of Kazakh dance were held at the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography.

Performances of groups and soloists, a Gala concert of Kazakh dance were held on the stage of “Astana Ballet” theater.
We congratulate the winners with the deserved award and wish them creative success, new achievements, fruitful creative search for the prosperity of Kazakh art and dance.

Grand Prix – Ensemble of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography.
1st place – “Tugan zher” dance ensemble of Akan Seri Regional Philharmonic of Department of Culture, Language Development and Archives of Akimat of North-Kazakhstan region, Petropavlovsk city;
2nd place – Kyzylorda Regional Philharmonic Society, “Tomiris” bi ensemble;
3 place – “Yertis Concert” of the Department of Culture of the East Kazakhstan region. Folk dance ensemble “Altai”;
3rd place – Pavlodar Regional Philharmonic named after Isa Bayzakov, “Nur” dance ensemble.

Prizes in the category “Solo performance”:
1st place – Iskandyrov Alibi, Toigulov Yersultan – Kazakh National Academy of Choreography;
2-nd place – Aidarkhanizy Inkar – Kazakh National Academy of Choreography;
3rd place – Omar Mukhammetaliyev – “Naz” state dance theater;
3 place – Alina Kaken – “Nur” ensemble, Pavlodar regional philharmonic after I. Baizakov, Pavlodar city.

Prizes in the category “Ballet Art”:
1 place – choreographer-director Almat Shamshiyev;
2nd place – choreographer-director Anvar Sadykova;
3rd place – choreographer-director Timur Kozhakhmetov;
3rd place – choreographer-director Amina Samarbayeva.
