Presentation of new musical and dance group named «BIRLIK» took place in Astana

On the thanksgiving day, march 1, 2024, a concert-presentation of a new musical-dance group “BIRLIK” was held with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The creative team was created at the National academic concert organization “Qazaq concert” named after Roza Baglanova with the purpose of formation of the international collective studying and performing at a professional level dances of the peoples of the world under the live instrumental accompaniment, acquaintance of young generation of Kazakhstan citizens with art and culture of other nationalities, and also strengthening in consciousness of citizens of multinationality and unity of the people of Kazakhstan as a cultural code.

«For the first time in the history of Kazakhstan and the CIS, a multinational song and dance ensemble has been created. Its unique repertoire will include the musical heritage and art of 130 ethnic groups, whose history is closely aligned with the history of the Kazakh people and the formation of independent Kazakhstan. I am confident that it will become a symbol of unity and harmony, uniting different peoples and a brand of Kazakhstan » said Aida Balayeva.

Within the framework of work on creation of ensemble “BIRLIK” audition was held, 20 best dancers and musicians representing a variety of nationalities and multi-instrumentalists were selected. It should be noted that 13 members of the ensemble are students of the school-college of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography.

On March 1, the «BIRLIK» ensemble performed mass and solo choreographic compositions, instrumental and vocal numbers on the stage of the Palace of Peace and Concord. Outstanding foreign choreographers, honored figures of Russia, Tatarstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan were invited to work together and share their experience in staging numbers and creating unique dance compositions.
