Student of Kazakh national academy of choreography won at the city tournament «TOGYZQUMALAQ CUP»

In march 2 in capital’s party AMANAT held a city tournament on togyzqumalaq in their branch. Amanzhol Nurkeldi, a 2nd year student of Art Management specialty, managed to win the third place. In total 28 participants competed for the title of the best. The national sports tournament was organized by the AMANAT party within the framework of the project “Ulttyq Mura” (national heritage).

According to the organizers, the main purpose of the tournament is to involve young people and party members in sport life, as well as to popularize national sports.

Togyzqumalaq is one of the national games of the Kazakh people, which has a history of 4 thousand years. Intellectual sport, invented by Kazakhs, has a special place in the history of mankind. Nowadays, togyzqumalaq has become a popular sport all over the world, and in 2019 it was included in the UNESCO cultural heritage list.
