Pupils of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography performed on the stage of “Astana Opera

On April 27 and 28 the pupils of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography presented R. Drigo’s play “Rosebud and Mothman’s Romance” on the stage of “Astana Opera” theater.

“Rosebud and Mothman’s Romance” is the last creation of the outstanding choreographer Marius Petipa, which was never staged at large theaters during his lifetime. Its world premiere took place on the stage of “Astana Ballet” last November.

Now the students of the Academy of Choreography have shown “Rosebud and Mothman Romance” to the audience of “Astana Opera” theater.

“The pupils of our academy took part in this airy, bright performance, all of them of different ages. This ballet has many merits: interesting and at the same time complex choreography, which is in harmony with the light, wonderful music of Riccardo Drigo. The ballet is not only rich in solo parts; the chorus also does a great job, which is important for the professional development of aspiring dancers. This “little masterpiece” has become a visiting card of the Academy of Choreography,” concluded Altynai Asylmuratova, art director of the Astana Opera Ballet Company and rector of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography.
