The first international master class was held within the walls of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography

Today the Academy of Choreography hosted an international online master class with the participation of the Kazan State Institute of Culture. The young artists demonstrated to the audience the first elements of modern choreography under the guidance of the Head of the department of choreographic art Alfiya Kaveeva.

In turn, 1^st year students of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography introduced foreign students to the basics of national dance. By the end of the year, the academy will organize another master class, but this time on the basics of sports ballroom dance.

Our national dance is very rich in movements of the arms, body, legs, and all this is accompanied by magnificent Kazakh music. I think that we were able to sow the seed of interest among students of the Kazan Institute and now they will be interested not only in Kazakh national dances, but also in the history and traditions of Kazakhstan, shared Aitolkyn Turginbaeva, the Dean of the choreography department.

The master class is held as part of an international double-diploma education project. In August 2021 an agreement was signed between the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography and the Kazan State Institute of Culture on the implementation of a double degree program. To participate in the program, students must complete the second year of a bachelor’s degree, and then apply for training at the Kazakhstan Academy or the Institute of Tatarstan.

This year Akbayan Serikkazina became the first sign of the educational program. She is studying in the field of “Pedagogy and Choreographic Art” and now continues to refine her skills at the Kazan State Institute of Culture. At the end of the institute, Akbayan will be awarded diplomas from two universities, shared Aitolkyn Turginbaeva, the Dean of the choreography department.

To date, three courses of students have been enrolled as part of the agreement on the implementation of the double degree program. In the near future, the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography plans to expand international cooperation and enter into agreements with world-class universities.
