On November 2-3, 2023, within the walls of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, a series of events took place within the framework of a scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of D. Abirov. On November 2, the first Republican competition of solo male Kazakh dance performers in Kazakhstan named after the People’s Artist of the Kazakh SSR Dauren Abirov took place. Based on the results of the preliminary selection, 19 artists representing 17 regions (age from 16 to 35 years) were admitted. Based on the results of the competition, a highly professional jury, headed by People’s Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan G.I. Talpakova, announced the winners: Grand Prix – Muratbekov Diyar (Kazakh National Academy of Choreography), 1st place – Amirbekov Rustem (Kazakh National Academy of Choreography), 2nd place – Duisenbay Erzhan (Ensemble “Gulder” of the State Concert Organization “Kazakhconcert named after Roza Baglanova”), 3rd place – Arshanbek Bakhtiyar (Taraz Regional University named after M. Abirova – Marat Mukhamedzhan (Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after Temirbek Zhurgenov).A special feature of this competition was that absolutely all participants in the creative event received financial aid and valuable prizes. A highlight of the competition day was the holding of a master class of Kazakh national dance from the teachers of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography A. Sadykova and A.Shamshieva. The final stage of the competition day was the Gala concert. The Gala Concert script was presented with emotionally performed performances by the competition participants and academy students. The atmosphere of celebration and creative inspiration did not leave anyone indifferent in the hall. I would like to believe that the First Republican Competition of Solo Male Kazakh Dance Performers named after the People’s Artist of the Kazakh SSR Dauren Abirov achieved its goal – it marked the next starting point for new achievements of our performers!
